Discipleship and Transformation

Growing Into the Character of Christ

Christian growth is a process. Discipleship is God’s way of helping believers move from simply believing in Jesus to living in a way that reflects Jesus.

The message revisited the Great Commission and described discipleship as a process of consistent and progressive instruction in the doctrine of Christ, kingdom lifestyle and community.

01

The Evidence of Growth

One of the clearest indicators of spiritual growth is the fruit of the Spirit.

Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control should increasingly become visible in the life of a disciple.

Growth is not measured only by what we know. It is also seen in who we are becoming.

Scripture

Galatians 5:22–23

The fruit of the Spirit: the visible evidence of growth.

02

From Believer to Witness

The teaching described the journey from unbeliever to believer and from believer to mature disciple.

True transformation produces an empowered witness. Believers become living epistles whose lives communicate the reality of Christ.

The early church demonstrated this through doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer.

03

Foundational Doctrines

The teaching also explored foundational areas of Christian doctrine, including repentance, faith, baptism, laying on of hands, resurrection and eternal judgment.

Faith remains central because the Christian life is lived by faith, and faith comes through hearing the Word of God.

Growth is not measured only by what we know. It is also seen in who we are becoming.

04

Transformation Through the Word and Spirit

Discipleship requires continuous transformation through the Word and the Spirit.

Baptism identifies the believer with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. The resurrection gives believers a living hope, while an understanding of eternal judgment encourages holy and prepared living.

The invitation is therefore not merely to believe, but to become a disciple, ambassador and witness of Christ.
